Sunday, March 31st, 2019, was a great day to spend at the rink! Enfield Twin Rinks hosted the second annual JRP 3v3 Hockey Jamboree and Open Skate to benefit the Jacob Roger Poulin Foundation.
29 teams made up of 110 hockey playing kiddos took to the ice, accompanied by many friends and family who attended the Open Skate as well. The skaters, between ages six to ten years old, played a 3v3 style jamboree. Donning their jamboree jerseys emblazoned with the number 4 across their backs, the little hockey players played their hardest for bragging rights and a jamboree medal. It was an exciting and unique event as the kids got to play four fast-paced games, just under 10 minutes in length each, after skating with their friends and family at the Open Skate. Good sportsmanship and having fun were emphasized because that's how Jacob always played. Today, everyone was on Team J4cob.
Thanks to our 14 sponsors (listed below) and countless volunteers, the jamboree, combined with the open skate, raffle, bake sale, merchandise sales and general donations, raised $9,225! Amazing!

An extremely large thank you to Megan Hastillo for motivating us to make this event happen again - delaying her own need for knee surgery!! - and for being primarily responsible for organizing the entire event this year! An equally large thank you to Carol Lessard and the owners of ETR; without Carol’s direction and support, and the generous donation of the ice time by the owner’s of ETR, this event would not have been possible. Thank you to all of the volunteers that made this event run so smoothly. Finally, a ginormous thank you to all the players and families that attended the second annual JRP 3v3 Jamboree and Open Skate! Your faith in and support of this event made it all possible. We are so very blessed to be a part of such an amazing community and can’t wait to make J4cob’s Park a reality.

The idea for the event all started when Grace, who is best friends with Jacob’s cousin Julia, suggested an Open Skate to her mother, Kelly, in 2017. While talking about what this event could look like, the idea for the first annual 3v3 Jamboree and Open Skate was born. From that moment on, Kelly Love, Casey Reynolds, and their 2008 CT Junior Huskies family began this wonderful event for the JRPF. There is nothing like the family you are joined with when you are part of the hockey community!

We hope you will partner with us again in the future as we make J4cob’s Park become a reality. Thank you all for making this event such a wonderful success! Please check out the event pictures below taken by Molly Marshall with CAM Sports Photography (Capturing Athletic Moments) and by Cindy Desrocher. Thank you ladies!!!
