Rugged Farmer Obstacle
Fun Run
April 22nd, 2018
On Sunday, April 22nd, 2018, over 400 people came out to enjoy the Town of Ellington's first Rugged Farmer Obstacle Fun Run! The weather couldn't have been more beautiful on this day full of fun for everyone. The Rugged Farmer Obstacle Fun Run Event, which raised $3,818.00, benefitted the Jacob Roger Poulin Foundation in it's entirety!
Twenty-one Competitive Division, 50 Intermediate Division, and 198 Fun Run Division runners had a great time taking on the following farm-inspired obstacles: Herd 'Em Home, Catch a Cow with a Lasso, Cowboy Crop Crawl, Pony Prance, Hay Bale Haul, Farmer Haul, Hay Bale Hike, Bring Home the Bacon, Broken Tractor, Cow Pie Target Toss, Cow Wrangler, and, Chicken Strut! The Competitive and Intermediate Divisions ran the 1.5 mile loop two times and hit 6 of the 12 obstacles each time, while the Fun Runners of all ages hit all 12 obstacles in the 1.5 mile loop that they ran one time. There was also a kid-zone organized by the Indian-Valley Y that was a fan favorite, and the Anytime Fitness pre-race stretching, run by Coach Andrew, kept anyone from "pulling a hammy" - other than during the "Bring Home the Bacon" obstacle, of course. It was a great day by everyone who attended the event.

Thank you to everyone who attended the Rugged Farmer Obstacle Fun Run! We had a lot of fun planning this event and hope you enjoyed it too!
See below for ALL the details, but please know that this event is for ALL AGES.
The Competitive and Intermediate Runs are two 1.5 mile loops in which the participant will hit six obstacles in the first loop, and the remaining six in the second loop.
The Fun Run was designed as a way to allow ALL AGES (3 and up) the opportunity to participate. If you're registered for the Competitive or Intermediate Runs, you automatically gain access to the Fun Run. This way, if there are any semi-competitive-minded friends or parents out there, they can get that out of their system and then have fun with their friends and families.
Costumes and teams are encouraged.
There is also a Kid Zone geared towards preschool- and young school-aged children. Registration is required so that the littles can get a t-shirt too.
Finally, if you don't want to test your farm-hand-and-obstacle-running skills, please consider volunteering! There is a link in the registration with more information if you're interested.
So, check it out to see if you're FIT FOR THE FARM!!!
