On Saturday, November 4th, 2017, golfers braved the challenging course at the 7th annual Greenskeeper's Charity Golf Classic held at Willow Brook Golf Course in South Windsor, CT. This was the second year that the golf tournament has benefited the Jacob Roger Poulin Foundation. 

 

The Greenskeeper's Charity Golf Classic poses a fun and challenging twist on the game of golf. Held annually as the last day of play at the golf course, this tournament allows the Greenskeepers, who take such diligent, meticulous care of the course all year, the opportunity to “take revenge” on the golfers who inflict the damage on the course. The Greenskeeper does this by setting up a very challenging and fun event; each hole is setup with different trials the golfers must face. For example, the golfers had to use their non-dominate hand for an entire hole of play; at another hole, they had to use a hockey stick to putt; further, another hole showcased a challenging “ninja warrior obstacle course” for the ball to be navigated through. Everyone who attended – playing or just spectating – had a great time.

 

Thanks to the 26 sponsors, over 116 golfers, and countless volunteers and individual donors, this golf tournament raised about $10,300 that will all go towards helping to build J4cob's Park!  A very special thank you to Brittany King O'Connor and the King Family, to Head Golf Pro Ali Davey, and to Willow Brook Golf Course for organizing and hosting this wonderful event.
